What age should I start training my puppy?
You can start training your pup as early as 8 weeks old! When we are teaching a brand new puppy how to become a polite member of the household, we believe it's best to teach them manners as soon as possible!
How long does it take to train a dog?
The time it takes to train a dog can vary widely and depends on several factors, including the dog's age, breed, temperament, and the specific training goals. If you have a nervous dog who displays aggressive behavior it can take quite some time to fix, but if you have a new puppy who likes to jump or pull we can change that in just one day!
Do you use E-collars?
No!! We believe that it is a totally unnecessary tool to use when utilizing proper, science based dog training methods.
What training methods do you use?
We believe in using balanced dog training methods that follow operant conditioning principles. We use LOTS of positive reinforcement, however it is not our only approach to every dog. Being that every dog is different, our approach to training each dog is always going to be unique. While we focus on positive reinforcement, there may be instances where corrections are necessary, especially for certain behaviors. We only use correction methods that are safe and humane, and our priority is your dog's well-being and comfort.
